last time ive checked the paths for caches on both plugins are absolute
so you have to remap those paths for working on linux and windows.
if they are on the network of course

Hi guys!
I'm losing my freshness of thinking, so I'd be grateful if anybody could give me a few pointers:
Customers are developing their scenes in windows, I'm making them cache the deformations in order to skip all the deformation ops, and I need to use a point cache reader in order to fire renders via xsibatch on a linux renderfarm (Fedora Core 5).
The idea was to use Kai's fantastic KP_pointcache, everything flows smoothly until I bring the scenes (which have to read the .pc2 files) on my remote FC5 environment.
I then fire the render through XSIbatch, and every object is static and with no deformation: looks like cache files are not being read, although no error is displayed on the log.
So, I tried with the version of PointOven shipped with 6.5 and everything is static as well, but this time, I get the error
' INFO : Point Oven: no file loaded.
So, looks like the various instances of XSIbatch can't find the MDD cache files I'm placing in a folder of the project, and I think it's the same issue for KP_pointcache.

I tried the same locally on my Centos 4 laptop and everything just runs at it should.

I checked all permissions for the users, folders and files involved, and everything should be ok,
I'm wondering if XSIbatch needs shared variables or shared directories when accessing a scene to be distributed, in this case, for example, the user directories are mounted on an NFS share. But now that I'm writing it, I don't think this could be a problem.

Any ideas? Did this happen to anybody else yet?

Thank you in advance and all the best,

Enea
