Hi Alan,

Orf the top o'me head, as well as DOF & MB (in the absence of FxTree using AE plugins!)

1. A multi composite node to layer a whole bunch of clips in one shot with the usual transfer modes (and percentage visibility control).

2. A version of revisions remap. You could create your 2d animation in the FxTree and pipe it straight to the objects surface during the final comp.
http://www.revisionfx.com/products/remap/

3. A decent text node thats open to all of XSI's parameters, (tut tut Softimage).

4. Perhaps someway to use the what's happening in a 3D camera to effect the FxTree, i.e. A realtime matte node that uses the 3D information to create the matte instead of having to render an actual matte out. This could also help with basic depth information as the colour of the matte could be controlled by the distance from camera etc.

5. Maybe a general FX node as in Photoshop (and After Effects?), to add quick outlines/glows/drop shadows/embossing etc.

6. Drawing brushes along 3d curves or geometry edges (defined by clusters), using Z depth as a function. Closed curves could be used to draw simple shapes/mattes.

I still somehow expect the FxTree to one day open up to all the available AE plugins, wishful thinking I guess.

The more nodes that can link the 3d world to the 2d world the better. A 2d particle renderer?

Adam.

Hi All,

I'm looking to gauge people's interest in a commercial set of FXTree nodes.

I'd imagine it including in the ballpark of 20 nodes. If people could
mail we with
a few details of their opinion on the matter.

Things I'm specifically interested in are:
* how many nodes you would expect to be in a package
* pricing/packaging expectation - i.e. would you prefer a site
license/per machine/other setup and at what price point
* list of nodes you'd like to see in such a package.

If you could send a mail to me with any thoughts on these things it'd be great.
Or discuss on the list if you like.

Cheers,

Alan.
