Thanks Greg. Makes sense.

If each pose is a set of transforms, so 9 outputs per pose, I think that would mean I would make a custom ppg somewhere with 9 parameters per pose. If there are possibly a dozen attributes, that would be a pain to do manually. Obviously I would need to script something and unfortunately my scripting skills are weak.

It also needs to be somewhat dynamic, so that I can add new poses quickly. I could script something that adds new parameters, maybe, but I guess then the output parameters would need to be updated to include the new inputs.

If I'm off on any of this, let me know!

Thanks very much,
Dave

Hi David,

My mail is bouncing from the list. I've only sent this personally :(

When you have multiple SDK's in maya it automatically inserts a
blendWeighted node between the SDK's and their target. If you want a
similar result then build a blendWeighted node inside XSI.

A simple way of doing this is to create a Custom Parameter Set. Add a
Custom Parameter for each Link-With output. Create an additional
Parameter to sum or average all those inputs. Use that Parameter as
the output to your target.

I want to be able to grab all the transforms on a null, and have it go to a
pose based on a custom parameter value. Then, later, set up another pose
based on another custom parameter. I'm not sure if link with multi will fit
the bill. One problem is that it seems to only work one channel at a time.

 I'm looking into it...

 Thanks,
 Dave

I suppose link with multi would be the obvious answer... That or an

_expression_.

Hi. If I want to make a facial rig where a joint/null is controlled by

multiple custom parameters, I have to stack multiple parents on top, each to
take its own "link with" fcurve.

In Maya, I can apply multiple SetDrivenKeys on a single null and it

blends them.

I want to experiment with setups that are more dependant on multiple

link withs, so I'm trying to figure out a better way to do this. Any ideas?

Thanks,
