I like Simon's idea a lot. Have a bit of a idea pool that gets voted on
and then the production challenge folks find out that day which one won.
I think a small prize for the person with the picked story could help too.

Just thinking that having some idea of how last years event was
started might help this thread.
My idea though would be to maybe get a few briefs from people here,
xsibase, etc, and have a vote on softimage.com say vote from the best
10 short projects submitted.
You'll have some idea what's coming then but not what has won it until
the start of day one. At the very least it might be a nice marketing
tool / way to get people involved.
Maybe the person's idea that is voted for could win a small prize, etc, etc..
Just an idea anyhow.
