I seem to remember replacing the La Maison shader with what I wrote so we could do RSMB on sprites, particles, hair, realflow, vector output for use in the compositor, etc...   In short, we didn't do RSMB straight out of the box as offered on the commercial market.

Barnyard used RSMB together with La Maison's motion vector shader for all its motion blur purposes (except those occasional things that were rendered with MB out of mental ray)

Hmm... sidenote Actually there were some other custom tools ;)

But for the areas we used RSMB, it was very successful, and Pierre Jasmin and Revision were a great help.
