Some of these tools were transparent to you guys, embedded in various places in the pipe, in the render trees, mesh bakes, on farm etc. Eg. The majority of the shaders you used were custom, even if they had the similar name as XSIs native ones which we replaced, with optimizations for MV , farm, transparency depth etc. built in. Matt created a lot of these for us along with some from Adam and the rest of the RnD guys.
Well that explains a lot. I thought all this time it was me being awesome. =P

Yeah custom like for the cards (which Ben Barker protoyped), and there were others, as well as some custom fusion plugs for post vectors etc. Just mentioned as they are great tools, but its not all straightforward using out of box for all pipe needs.
As Matt mentioned we had him write our own MR shaders for MV extraction as well as the extensively featured card shaders etc, and along with the other RnD guys various composite plugins for more flexibility in post and less scene attribute prep. Adam Farrell can talk more about the Fusion plugs.

Barnyard used RSMB together with La

Hmm... sidenote Actually there were some other custom tools
;)
But for the areas we used RSMB, it was very successful, and Pierre Jasmin
and Revision were a great help.
