Hi Bryon
The answer to the line return question is
\r\n.
It is in the SDK examples :-)

[Scripting] labels and line returns
I'm working with a multi-line string in a custom property page. The
string I am feeding into the string object has "\n" for line returns but
when I run the script it puts in that square for a non recognized character. How
do I force a line return in the scrolling string box?
The other problem
is that the dialog is always drawn with the label to the left of the string box.
I've seen some scripts with the label on top for this type of control but I
can't find a way to set it on the top.
Thanks,
